WHAT WE DO
Fiber Media Lab (FML) was officially established in Hangzhou in 2022. Its core team, formed by faculty and students from the China Academy of Art, brings together high-quality artistic resources from both domestic and international communities. As a resource integration platform dedicated to in-depth research and cross-disciplinary practices in fiber art and public space art, FML creates dialogue through international exhibitions and academic initiatives. Committed to translating cultural DNA via the language of fiber, the lab actively promotes public art education and cultural dissemination, embodying its artistic philosophy of "weaving spatial aesthetics through fiber."

We approach every project with fresh eyes, analyzing broad objectives and unique nuances to streamline the design and construction process. This detailed focus extends to space planning, material selection, and an emphasis on craftsmanship. FML Art Studio combines research-based art and design practices with an interest in curating academic exhibitions, exploring how design, craft, technology, and materials converge to push the boundaries between art, design, architecture, other disciplines, and the public. By integrating contemporary art, our team has created a variety of exhibitions and public art projects both in China and abroad.
