2014 Graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts
2016 and 2018 Obtained a master's degree from the Department of Fine Arts, Chelsea College of Art, University of the Arts London, and the Department of Printmaking, Royal College of Art
2022 Started teaching at China Academy of Art
Chen Wencun's art is self-exploring. His experience of studying in the West has made him pay more attention to the commonalities among people rather than their differences. His attention to identity, language, collective experience and other topics can be seen in his diverse works. Observation and response are his ways to keep his art alive.

Chen Wencun photographed an ordinary mother from a coastal city in China that relies on energy and industry. She used her special skin and body to connect with the saline-alkali land where she grew up.
